Wristbands used to boost voter turnout in Bulgaria

A coalition of 13 non-government organisations launched a campaign to encourage Bulgarians to vote in the October 22 presidential elections, Darik Radio reported.

The campaign is called “I care” and is a response to concerns that voter turnout will be low.
One hundred thousand silicone bracelets in the colours of Bulgaria’s flag and with the slogan “I care” would be given away during the campaign, Darik said.

16-year old Ben Lyman was killed on June 23rd when he dove 30 feet off a bridge over Bear River near Logan Utah. The accidental death stunned his teammates on the football team at Sky View High School, and they decided to dedicate their season in Ben’s honor. And what a season it has been.The Bobcats are 8-0 for the first time in school history, and will be one of the favorites to win their first state title in school history. The Bobcats wear custom wristbands from Reminderband that say, “Remember Ben,” and they tap his #25 jersey every time they step onto the field.

The North Davis Elementary School store is open for business, thanks to fourth-grader Malerie Beck.

The young entrepreneur recently approached Principal Judy Davis and asked if she could raise money for the school by opening a store. Davis said “yes,” and a few weeks later Malerie was in business.

Ken and his wife Carolyn found out Ken had bladder cancer in 1993. For Ken and Carolyn and their four children this was a very difficult time. Ken started going to the doctor’s at least once a year for the doctor to scrape the tumors out of his bladder. After each procedure he would have to wait three months and then go back for a check-up and on April 15, 2005 he found out the cancer had spread.

Wall Street Loves the St. Jude Kids

Wall Street and St. Jude Children Research Hospital had their 16th annual “Taste of New York” on Nov. 15 where six hundred Wall Street top executives participated in a silent auction in support of the brain tumor research program. One of the many party favors was wristbands of course, which donned “Wall Street Loves the St. Jude Kids.”


Bracelets Support Scholarship

Appalachian State University’s Student Government Association is currently selling trendy bracelets to raise proceeds to fund a need-based scholarship for an Appalachian student.

The bracelets, which cost $3, are black and gold with “Appalachian State” printed on them.

SGA is selling the bracelets in its office in Plemmons Student Union.
