Reminderbands Are a Big Hit For Team Impressions

Our new company, Impressions, became involved with a fundraising event for the American Cancer Society (ACS) local Relay for Life ® this year. It is an overnight outdoor family-focused event where teams of people from local businesses and the community participate in a 24-hr relay walk at a local track or field. In additional to celebrating survivors, its purpose is to raise funds and awareness about cancer prevention.


Family sells bands for scholarship for fallen son

As they do at each Law Enforcement Training Center graduation, those gathered to see their loved ones join law enforcement’s ranks observed a moment of silence to honor fallen officers.
On Thursday, that moment was driven home when Michael and Rita Pratt presented one of the graduates with the first scholarship established in honor of their late son, Jason Tye Pratt.


Methuen Parish uses wristband to mark Lent

METHUEN — Silicone wristbands in yellow, pink, purple and orange adorn the arms of people of all ages to promote awareness of different illnesses and issues.

Now, Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish wants to use them to highlight the season of Lent.


Fill the Boot for Joe

Joseph Melville is 3 years old and was diagnosed on Nov. 17, 2005 with Neuroblastoma, a type of cancer that affects kids. For Melville, the tumor is in his stomach. Captain Paul Melville of the Southgate Volunteer Fire Department is Joseph’s dad and his family and friends are having a benefit for him called “Fill the Boot for JOE”.


Reminderband Donates to Individual Hurricane Katrina Relief Organizations

Reminderband announces its donations to local Hurricane Katrina victims. Reminderband wanted to donate to local victims of the disaster and so donations were sent to St. Stanislaus College, the Transitional Recovery Action Center for Katrina (T.R.A.C.K.) created by the Acadiana Outreach Center and the Salvation Army.


Save Tulane- How One Student Raised Money For Tulane University

Imagine waking up one day and having to hurry and grab a few items that are expensive or close to you and driving off leaving everything behind. This is what many had to do when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. For Craig Karger, a sophomore at Tulane University, he left with just his lap top and iPod as he drove off to the Houston airport to fly to Miami to meet his parents.

Bracelets Raise Money for Medical Bills

For two months, Tammy Albomonte has been selling rubber bracelets emblazoned with “Friends for Alex” for 5-year-old Alex Rodriguez, the ill son of her good friends.

Alex was diagnosed two years ago with an ependymoma brain tumor and since has undergone costly surgeries and chemotherapy treatments. Albomonte saw her friends’ bills add up and wanted to do something to help.
