Wristbands gearing up for hospital fundraising goal

Fundraising success? Sometimes it’s all in the wrist action.

The University of Michigan will begin selling new maize and blue tie-dye wristbands this weekend, hoping to build on the success of a blue version that generated more than $400,000 in sales to help fund a new children and women’s hospital.
The new wristbands will go on sale at U-M’s Football Fan Day, today from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Michigan Stadium. They will also be on sale at U-M’s home opener Sept. 3 against Northern Illinois.
Kathryn Gissiner, 13, an eighth-grader at Ann Arbor’s Tappan Middle School, said she’s excited at the prospect of new wristbands.
