Son uses bands to remember father

On his wrist was a Kelly green silicone bracelet, similar to the Livestrong bands Lance Armstrong made popular. It reads “Run 4 It,” a testament to his passion for running and the memory of his father.
Sean, who is 16, lost his 51-year-old father, John, to melanoma in 2004.
Weeks after the death, Gartland came up with the idea to design and sell the bracelets to support the Columbus Cancer Clinic, where his father, also a runner, was a member of the board of trustees.
